J Bizness - Giraffes (feat. The Black Opera)

Since taking off this past August, J. Bizness' instrumental album Flight Plan has gotten much mileage with fans and critics alike. The album, the first in Mello Music Group's Instrumental Series, is a collection of 24 selections with a crisp, spacey sound inspired by the freedom of flight.

Back when Flight Plan dropped, as a celebratory bonus, MMG leaked a track by The Black Opera over one of J.'s heatrocks. The result was "Giraffes," a testament to the sinister seduction of addiction. Now the involved parties are proud to share the visuals for "Giraffes," directed by Andy Madeleine. The video features our perpetually loc'd out duo narrating the story of a fine young woman descending into the habit of getting high. Over J.'s smooth, electronic and airy production, TBO's morality tale is a banger.

Combining talents, two of MMG's finest come together to make material to stand the test of time. Both J. Bizness' Flight Plan and The Black Opera's Libretto: of King Legend are both available now.

The Black Opera - Black Lair (feat. Melody Betts)

Step into The Black Opera’s “Black Lair.” This high-energy track takes us to a place “blacker than Mutombo,” illuminated only by the musical light of French producer Astronote. A dusty piano begins to pound as a subterranean bass line travels through. Melody Betts lends her haunting but angelic voice to add to the ethereal vibe of the track. Our other-worldly Creators complement the frenetic pace of the song, warning listeners that “perception is king, you never know who’s the diablo.”

The Black Opera – Balcony

Balcony, the newest Video Demonstration from The Black Opera, is a behind the scenes glimpse into TBO Headquarters as they prepare for a Live Demonstration. In the world of opera, a libretto is the blueprint, a written text that anchors the performance.

The Black Opera – All Over Disguise (Apollo Brown Remix)

The Black Opera have quickly proven to be beacons of light in the game, emerging at a time when the landscape is fragmented. Their EnterMission. project presented them as faceless champions for change and forward-motion. Now partnering with Mello Music Group, they are releasing the physical manifestation of EnterMission. on Disc today.
They’ve enlisted now label-mate Apollo Brown to put his midas touch on “All Over Disguise”, a cut from EnterMission. originally produced by Astronote. Apollo chops a string sample beautifully to craft a reflective slow burner that takes the vibe of the original audio demonstration to a more contemplative place. TBO’s introspection is augmented with powerful lines like, “analogue to digital, man is lost and miserable/ seeking more (moor) in General, Othello” - a clever Shakespearian nod to the Moorish General Othello on-top of a track that knocks.
The anonymous creative collective is currently perfecting their next musical installment, Libretto: of King Legend, due out this fall, but the CD version of EnterMission. drops today with the vinyl on the way! tags tags: aside worldwide all over disguise apollo brown entermission. hip hop hip-hop/rap indie mello music group rap remix soul the black opera.

The Black Opera signs w/ MMG | “Magician” ft. Vaughn G & Jade Lathan

The Black Opera has prepared a visual presentation of “The Magician” asking “Is Perception KING or QUEEN? Or, a blurred line in between? That line can sometimes best be defined as “MAGIC”. The art of magic is displayed by slight of hand, and by natural forces being influenced by mysterious powers. In this video demonstration for “The Magician” the mystery remains, but the veil is slightly lowered.
The Opera is still Black, but this track brings new hints of sound in color. “The Magician” is a modern day vintage style mini-movie with a realistic portrayal of what happens when “too much, too soon” and “too little, too late” collide on the same track in a relationship. Join The Black Opera for this black tie affair and SPREAD THE WARNING.”
